Sleeping through the night already??

Well, Miss Alanis has slept through the night 2 nights in a row.
She has slept through the night a couple other times, but never two times in row.

Friday night we went to bed at 10:30pm and she woke up at 6:20am.
Last night we went to bed around 11:30pm and she slept until 7:30am.

It's wonderful!! I haven't been able to sleep straight through the night since I got pregnant. Between the bathroom trips then and over night feedings after she was here, I had forgotten what it was like to sleep 6-8 hours at without waking.
I hope this lasts, but even if it's only a couple nights a week, that works for me.
I feel so refreshed and awake!!

Introductions

Well, here is my new blog!!
It's going to be all about my family!
Since we have so many friends and family in NY, I wanted a way to update you all and keep you posted on our lives and what's going on. This is the best way I could figure to do it.
I will really try to update daily, but with a new baby, that may be hard.
Some days Miss Alanis has a great day filled with naps and happy times. Other days................well, she's just not a happy girl. So I'll do my best to keep it updated.

Today Russ left for Dallas. Its my first time I'll be alone over night with Alanis. It's been a rough day so far. Alanis has not slept hardly at all. She's pretty miserable. When she's over tired, she has a hard time sleeping and therefore becomes kind of cranky. This on top of the Colic is making for a not so pleasant evening for the two of us. We'll get through it though.
I've tried to eat dinner at least 3x and have yet to accomplish it!!

Russ has been working a lot lately. And it will continue to work a lot as he's getting ready to take the plant manager job at Diebold. I'm proud of him. I'm so greatful that he has this job and I'm able to stay home with Alanis for a bit, but I miss him too. I hate that he works so late and travels. I know it's very hard for him to be away from Alanis too. He makes a big sacrafice for us. I couldnt' ask for a better husband or daddy.

I'm doing some work at home. My dad is great about not pressuring me to do more. I do what I can when I can do it. I know he appreciates it. I wish I could do more regularly, but it's almost impossible to figure out what kind of day I'll have. I think I'll be able to help him out more and more as time goes on though. Eventually, I'll be going back to work. Hopefully part time at first.
I really dont' want to put Alanis is day care full time. I can't imagine some stranger getting to be with her more during the day then I get. It makes me sad just thinking about it. However, getting to go do grown up stuff for a few hours a day would be a nice treat too.

I've started gathering our tax stuff together. I can't wait to get them done and see how much we're getting back. We have about $40,000 in medical expenses to write off. PLUS we have a beautiful little tax deduction!!

Alanis is starting to smile at us. It's fun!!! I love that we can talk sweet to her and her little face lites up and she gets a big ole grin!!
Here is a little video or two. She's on my lap for these, so the videos are not that great. Sorry.
For some reason, the second video showed up twice. So the 3rd video is a duplicate.

Enjoy!!
